Go Green and Give

Absolute Storage Management (ASM) is proud to announce their Go Green and Give community involvement commitment that began in 2014 and the plans for the program’s continued progress into 2015.

The partners have always had a heart and passion for giving back; this passion has always been shown in their encouragement of properties’ involvement in community events- sponsoring little league teams, hosting community yard sales, being present at Chamber meetings and activities- as well as their personal time and money- finding one or more of the partners at a mentoring meetings with the local university, the University of Memphis, or donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Although all of these efforts have been happening since the company was founded in 2002, the partners thought it time to put more focus on this belief. Therefore, the Go Green and Give (GGG) commitment was created.

Believing that change happens from “the top down”, Matt Bailey, Scott Beatty, and Michael Haugh, knew they needed to lead by example. The partners decided that once a quarter, a volunteering event would be set up and that the event would be open to the entire corporate office as well as the surrounding team members. These events have benefitted the Mid South Food Bank, Shelby Farms Park, and St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The focus of these events is to open the ASM team members up for experiences, bring the groups together, and promote a healthy awareness to the efforts of the groups volunteering for and the various needs of the community as well as our ability and duty to give back what efforts can be done.

Part of the Go Green and Give commitment is to “Go Green”. This includes the reducing office supplies and recycling when possible. General Manager, Michelle Dean, led the way in reducing office supplies with her “Paperless as Possible” approach. Whenever necessary, Michelle would email tenants or save documents as PDFs under files instead of printing whenever possible. This cut back 33% of expenses associated with paper and ink.

The latest addition to GGG has been the partnership if ASM to Chalkfly, now Global Office Solutions, and their commitment to give back to the community.  Chalkfly donated 5% of all purchases made by ASM directly to local educators.

ASM has been very encouraged with this program and is excited to see it grow more in 2015. If you are a group looking for volunteers in the Mid-South area, please contact Grace Anderson at grace.anderson@absolutemgmt.com to discuss volunteer opportunities.
