Living Our Core Values: The Heart of Absolute’s Culture
August 19, 2025 in Facility and Management News
At Absolute, culture is more than a statement. It’s the way we work, lead, and serve every day. Guided
by our “We Care” initiative, we are committed to caring for our team members, clients, tenants, and the
communities we serve. This commitment is brought to life through the daily practice of our six core
values: Leadership, Integrity, Communication, Teamwork, Excellence, and Dedication.
We believe that when these values are actively lived out, they create an environment where people feel
valued, supported, and inspired to grow. Research completed by the Society of Human Resources
Management (SHRM) shows that team members who rate their workplace culture as good or excellent
are almost four times more likely to stay with their employer. That’s why culture is not just part of our
identity; it’s a strategic advantage.
Recognizing Excellence Through Our Core Value Coin Program
Recognition is a powerful motivator and at Absolute, we celebrate moments when our team members go above and beyond. Our Core Value Coin Program allows Leadership and supporting departments recognize team members who demonstrate our values in action.
Each recognition includes a personalized coin displaying the core value earned, accompanied by a card thanking them for their contributions. Recently, we made the process even more accessible by moving it to a virtual format, making it easier than ever to recognize team members quickly or order physical coins and cards for property visits, meetings, and events.
Celebrating Achievements: Team Member of the Quarter & Year
Every quarter and each year, team members from both our property and core teams are nominated by their peers for outstanding achievements. These nominations are shared with each team member personally and the winners are recognized on our company wide All Teams Call, giving us all a chance to celebrate their hard work, dedication, and embodiment of Absolute’s values. This peer-driven recognition fosters a sense of pride and shared success across our team.
Fostering Growth Through the Emerging Leaders Program
We believe that investing in our people is the best investment we can make. Our Emerging Leaders Program provides team members with a unique opportunity to expand their leadership skills through a combination of in-person and virtual learning. The program kicks off with an in-person retreat filled with immersive leadership development sessions.
Participants then continue their growth through an ongoing virtual cohort, where they work through
Dare to Lead by Brené Brown alongside the other participants. In each cohort session, one of our
Regional Directors or Executive Leaders joins to share their own business perspective on the topic being
discussed, bringing real-world context and leadership insight to the learning. The recent expansion of
this program has deepened its impact, ensuring participants gain lasting tools and relationships to help
them excel.
Giving Back to the Communities We Serve
Community engagement is a cornerstone of our culture. We have been giving back to the communities we have served for many years, but we wanted to highlight a recent example that approximately 60 of our team members took part in. At our Core Team Retreat, team members came together to create and donate over 25 blankets for Project Linus, benefiting the Pediatric Transfusion and ICU units at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Small teams competed to see who could complete the most blankets, combining friendly competition and teamwork with meaningful impact.
Beyond events, we empower our property teams across the country to engage in local initiatives, building relationships and giving back in ways that matter most to their communities. These efforts are often shared with the team company-wide, inspiring all of us to make a difference.
Our Commitment to a Strong, Lasting Culture
These programs are just a few examples of how we put growth, recognition, and community
engagement at the forefront of what we do. By intentionally living out our core values every day, we
create an environment where people feel supported, achievements are celebrated, and communities are
strengthened. Nearly half of job seekers (46%) say culture is one of the most important factors they
consider when evaluating job opportunities (Instill). We’re proud that at Absolute, culture is more than a
priority. It is our foundation, driving us to bring our “We Care” promise to life every day.
