Management Team
Michael Haugh, CCIM, CPM
Prior to forming ASM in 2002, Michael Haugh spent eight years with a national self-storage company in several operations, finance and investment roles. Michael began as an Assistant Property Manager, and spent 3 years as a Property Manager and District Manager learning the business from the ground up. To compliment the operations experience, Michael worked with the CFO on joint ventures and equity financing. He also worked with the CEO investing in new development projects and acquiring existing properties. Michael holds a BA in Economics from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the University of Memphis. He also is an affiliate real estate broker in Tennessee, and holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designations. Michael is primarily responsible for obtaining new third party management contracts, pursuing acquisition and development opportunities, conducting feasibility studies and assisting in property management. In addition to these duties, Michael is the co-founder and contributing member of the Tennessee Self Storage Association.
Matt Bailey
Prior to forming ASM in 2002, Matt accumulated five years of experience in the self-storage industry and has held a variety of positions, enabling him to amass extensive knowledge of the industry. Starting off as an assistant property manager with a national self-storage company, Matt rapidly advanced into management, holding a district manager position for two years, where he supervised 15 self-storage properties. Serving as a financial analyst for the next year, he was able to hone his analytical skills before moving on to a highly visible position as Manager of Contact Center Operations, where he supervised a staff of 30. Matt holds a BS in Management from Southern Illinois University, and an MBA from the University of Memphis. He is currently pursuing the CCIM designation. Matt is the Director of Operations for ASM overseeing our regional managers and some of our Memphis properties.
Scott Beatty
Prior to joining ASM in 2003, Scott spent eight years in financial operations and forecasting/budgeting, including four years as Operations Manager with a national self-storage company. His experiences include the development of single year property budgets along with long-range strategic and financial plans for billion dollar companies. During his time in self storage, Scott and his staff managed the budgeting and forecasting responsibilities for over 400 properties annually, along with the creation, generation and analysis of monthly property financial reports. Scott holds a BS in Finance from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. Scott is primarily responsible for the back-office company-wide responsibilities including accounting, human resources, and financial reporting analysis functions, as well as overseeing some of our Memphis properties.
Wendy Mitchell
Prior to joining ASM, Wendy acquired eight years of experience in self storage in a wide variety of positions. Starting off as a part-time relief manager for Sovran Acquisition (Uncle Bob's Self Storage) while attending college, she recognized the opportunities and growth and decided to make this her career. Within the first three years she went from part-time relief manager to managing multiple locations. She is currently pursuing her BA in management from Penn Foster. Wendy began working with ASM in 2006 and has been a Regional Manager in the Alabama and Georgia regions for the past two years.
Jasmine Allen
Prior to joining ASM, Jasmine was an operations/loss prevention manager for New York & Co. She worked for New York and Co. for nine years and was primarily responsible for hiring and training functions as well as the analysis of results to ensure sales goals were met. Upon entering the self storage field in 2006, Jasmine quickly achieved promotions as she moved from an entry level marketing position, to assistant manager to full-time property manager. Upon joining ASM in 2007, Jasmine was quickly promoted from property manager to general manager (oversight of 2 locations) to her current role of Regional Manager in early 2008. Jasmine has a BS in Finance from the University of Florida.
Jennifer Duncan
Prior to joining ASM, Jennifer spent four years with a local hotel franchise in Georgia in the general manager position. She had complete oversight of the day-to-day operations of the hotel including hiring, training, customer service and vendor relations. During her time there she oversaw the completion of two conversions and a complete renovation of an existing hotel. Jennifer holds a degree from Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA with a BS in communication. Following graduation she worked as a newspaper reporter where she received several awards from the Georgia Press Association. Jennifer joined ASM in early 2007 as a property manager and was promoted to general manager (oversight of 2 locations) in late 2007. In early 2008 she was promoted to her current position of Regional Manager.
